These are books and sites that I have used in compiling the data on this site.
I do suggest finding copies of them. This site is intended as a combined resource, but having the books on hand allows for perusal of the more detailed information within them, and also supports the people who went to the effort of making the data accesible.
I will add resources as I finish compiling them.
Books:
Herbal Teas for Health and Healing – Ceres
This book is fairly minimalistic compared to many of those I have been using to research, but it has a lot of interesting historical and folkloric information alongside the suggestions of teas to use for various issues. It also gives some indication as to what the various herbs taste like, and how to combine them to good effect, both medicinally, and to the approval of your tastebuds.
Natural Answers to Women’s Health Questions – Jesse Lyn Hanley
I found this one to be a fascinating reference on quite a few different conditions and health issues, both at a base level, and with femal specific detailing on the effects of various hormones and life stages. It also has a couple of very nice appendices in the back giving information on vitamin/supplement/drug/herb interactions.
The Food Pharmacy – Jean Carper
Fascinating data on various foods, including both the folkloric and the scientific.
