{"id":1875,"date":"2013-01-10T07:55:43","date_gmt":"2013-01-10T14:55:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archives.ravenandcoyote.net\/?p=1875"},"modified":"2013-01-12T14:46:26","modified_gmt":"2013-01-12T21:46:26","slug":"green-cleaning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archives.ravenandcoyote.net\/?p=1875","title":{"rendered":"Green Cleaning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ideas collected from a variety of places.\u00a0 Some I have tried, some I have not.\u00a0 However, it is absolutely amazing what you can manage to clean with things you likely have in your kitchen for other purposes, rather than reaching for the bottles of chemical nastiness we have been taught are necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Stainless Steel Sink:\u00a0 Wet it down, sprinkle with baking soda, scrub, rinse.\u00a0 Use a retired soft-bristle toothbrush and the same paste to clean the rim and caulk, and the rubber around the garbage disposal.\u00a0 Line the sink with paper towels or rags that you have soaked in white vinegar.\u00a0 Leave for 20 minutes.\u00a0 Clean down again, this time with sponge and soapy water.\u00a0 Rinse.<\/p>\n<p>Garbage disposals:\u00a0 Pour a half cup of baking soda down the drain, then a cup of water.\u00a0 Boil a kettle, and pour the water down the drain.\u00a0 Add two cups of ice and one cup of rock salt to the drain, turn on the disposal until it goes down.\u00a0 Take a lime or lemon, cut in half, and send each half down the disposal.<\/p>\n<p>Faucets:\u00a0 Soapy water and a sponge, or vinegar soaked paper towels.\u00a0 Using newspaper to polish them works quite well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ideas collected from a variety of places.\u00a0 Some I have tried, some I have not.\u00a0 However, it is absolutely amazing what you can manage to clean with things you likely have in your kitchen for other purposes, rather than reaching for the bottles of chemical nastiness we have been taught are necessary.
